Chemical Engineering (B.S.)/Environmental Engineering (M.ENG.)

Illinois Tech’s Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering/Master of Engineering in Environmental Engineering accelerated master's program allows students the opportunity to pursue advanced studies in environmental engineering while completing both degrees in as few as five years.

Students will build a basic foundation in chemical engineering during the undergraduate portion of this program and prepare for advanced environmental engineering work in the fourth year.

Combined with our Master of Engineering in Environmental Engineering’s mixed-media program, students will gain experience within environmental engineering fields, including air quality engineering, and hazardous waste engineering and management.

Coursework may include chemodynamics, environmental chemistry, and hazardous waste engineering.

Students applying to the accelerated master’s program must have completed at least 60 credit hours with at least one full semester (12 credit hours) of applicable undergraduate study at the university.

Students must be at least one full semester (12 credit hours) away from undergraduate degree completion in order to apply.

Applicants are required to have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; however, please consult individual departments for specific minimum GPA requirements.
