Computer Engineering (B.S.)/Computer Science (M.A.S.)

Illinois Tech’s Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering/Master of Computer Science accelerated master's degree program allows students the opportunity to pursue advanced studies and complete both degrees in as few as five years.

The undergraduate portion of the curriculum places an emphasis on both theory and practical applications of computer engineering. Students will be equipped with detailed knowledge of both hardware and software and be prepared to build and use complex information processing systems for a wide range of applications.

The graduate portion of the curriculum for this degree provides advanced study in computer science. Students will be prepared for careers as working computer science professionals in business and industry.

Specializations in business, software engineering, networking and telecommunications, and information systems are available.

Students applying to the Accelerated Master’s Program must have completed at least 60 credit hours with at least one full semester (12 credit hours) of applicable undergraduate study at the university.

Students must be at least one full-time semester (12 credit hours) away from undergraduate degree completion in order to apply.

Applicants are required to have a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0; however, please consult individual departments for specific minimum GPA requirements.
