The Master of Management program at Stuart School of Business is designed to expand the career prospects of students with non-business bachelor’s degrees, no matter what career path that they are pursuing.

The program’s broad-based training in business and management skills is particularly suited to students with undergraduate majors in any STEM and technical discipline, architecture, psychology, the humanities, and other fields, and for those who have limited or no professional work experience.

In our management program, you can develop the kinds of management skills—innovation, leadership, decision making, marketing, finance, operations, and more—that complement your expertise in your undergraduate field and make you more competitive in the job market. You’ll also be prepared to take on roles with management responsibilities that can accelerate your career progression.

Program Overview

The Master of Management program is designed to expand the career prospects of students with non-business bachelor’s degrees and limited work experience. The program’s training in core business and management skills positions you to be more competitive in the job market and to be equipped to take on roles with management responsibilities that can lead to career advancement.

Career Opportunities

The Master of Management program is a powerful complement to your undergraduate degree in engineering and other STEM fields, architecture, psychology, or other non-business disciplines. Our generalized managerial and business training, combined with your expertise and technical skills in your primary undergraduate field, can help you stand out to employers and move up into roles with management responsibilities in any type of business, government entity, or nonprofit organization.

This master’s degree also prepares you for entry-level business or management positions in marketing, operations, project management, product management, and finance.

The United States Bureau of Labor Statistics reports an overall median annual wage of $116,880 for in 2023 and projects that employment in management occupations will grow faster than the average for all occupations from 2023 to 2033.

Drawing on Stuart’s graduate programs in business administration and marketing analytics, our Master of Management program is designed to teach students with STEM, humanities, or other non-business backgrounds the core business and management skills essential to accelerate advancement in any career path.

The program requires successful completion of at least 30 credit hours (10 courses). For Illinois Tech students pursuing this degree through the co-terminal option of the Accelerated Master’s Program, the program is expected to add two semesters of full-time enrollment, typically a fifth year, to the time required for the bachelor’s degree.

  • Completed online application
  • Bachelor’s degree in a non-business discipline; students currently enrolled in an Illinois Tech bachelor’s degree in a non-business discipline who are in their final two semesters are encouraged to apply through the co-terminal option of the Accelerated Master’s Program
  • Official transcript submission with a minimum cumulative undergraduate grade-point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • No GMAT or GRE scores required
  • English proficiency exam, if required

Current Illinois Tech undergraduates and recent alumni have options to reduce the number of credits required for this program through the university’s Accelerated Master’s Program. Management dual degree programs at Stuart

Earn both a Master of Management and a master’s degree in computer science, information technology and management, or psychology to expand you career opportunities.

Accelerated Master's Program (AMP)

Current Illinois Tech undergraduates can earn both a bachelor’s degree and a Master of Management in as few as five years through the AMP co-terminal option.
