Mary Jorgenson Sullivan

Mary Jorgenson Sullivan is the Associate Director and a Senior Lecturer in English Language Services.  She taught English as a Second/Foreign language since 1990 at community-based organizations throughout Âé¶¹APP. Since 2004, she has taught English for Academic/Specific purposes at Koc University in Istanbul, Turkey, the University of Illinois at Âé¶¹APP, and Illinois Tech.  She has been a member of the International Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages since 2008, as well as the Illinois TESOL/Bilingual Education Association, of which she is currently the co-chair of the Higher Ed Special Interest Group.  Additionally, she has presented on Learner Autonomy (ITBE, 2009) and Extending Learning Beyond the Classroom (ITBE, 2015).  She served as a Proposal Reviewer for the 2017 TESOL Convention, and is a Peer Reviewer for the Commission on English Language Accreditation (CEA).  Her interests are brain-based learning and instructional design.
