The Caldwell Farm: A Sense of Himself in Forty Acres

Thomas Dyja is a noted novelist and biographer. His survey of post-war Ā鶹APP, ā€œThe Third Coast,ā€ was selected by the Ā鶹APP Public Library for the 2015-16 ā€œOne Book, One Ā鶹APPā€ initiative. Other works of note include the award-winning ā€œOn the High Lineā€ and the biography "Walter White: The Dilemma of Black Identity in America."

This lecture marks the first of five installments in ā€œAlfred Caldwell and the Performance of Democracy,ā€ a series of multi-site programs that address a diverse range of geographies and constituencies to amplify access, interpretations, and new scholarship on Caldwell. Dyjaā€™s contribution aims to expand the latent discourse of landscape architecture in the Midwest.
