Management (M.A.S.)/Information Technology and Management (M.S.)
The Master of Management/Master of Science in Information Technology and Management (ITM) dual-degree program at Illinois Institute of Technology is designed for graduate students who want to pursue management, academic, and research careers in the information technology field.
This powerful combination of STEM and business will provide you with the foundational technical IT skills and expertise in business strategy and management to advance your career into key leadership roles in information technology, research, and software and systems development at companies ranging from startups to large corporations, as well as in the consulting, academic, governmental, and nonprofit sectors.
Flexibility is built into the M.S. in Information Technology and Management program, so you can tailor your course selection and independent study to meet your professional interests and goals.
- This program provides excellent preparation for pursuing a Ph.D. or other advanced degree, with the option of completing either a master’s thesis or a master’s project.

Enrolling in this dual-degree program reduces the total number of credits required by nine credit hours (three courses), compared to enrolling in the Master of Management and M.S. in ITM programs separately.

Program Overview
The Master of Management/M.S. in Information Technology and Management dual-degree program provides students with essential knowledge and skill sets for a wide range of careers—particularly those with management and leadership responsibilities—in IT software and systems research, development, and operations in industry, consulting, and the public and nonprofit sectors. The program is also excellent preparation for pursuing doctoral or other advanced studies in information technology.
Career Opportunities
Graduates of the Master of Management/M.S. in ITM dual-degree program have a strong background for management roles responsible for planning, research and development, and implementation of information technology functions at companies and organizations of all types.
These are fast-growing career areas. For example, the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics reports median annual wages in 2022 and projected job growth from 2022–32 for the following occupational categories:

The Master of Management/M.S. in ITM dual-degree program requires completion of a minimum of 53 credit hours total (21 credit hours for Master of Management and 32 credit hours for M.S. in ITM). This total represents a reduction of nine shared credit hours, all from the Master of Management curriculum, compared with enrolling in the two degree programs separately.
