The Office of Community Affairs connects the residents of Bronzeville and beyond with hands-on opportunities to explore relevant topics in STEM. Youth programming is designed to create and nourish interest in natural and applied sciences. It ranges from STEM Expos, known as Family Fun Day to Science Cafes, to federally funded citizen science initiatives. Every experience is specifically designed to help young people gain a broader perspective about the people who work in STEM fields and the range of opportunities that are available to them.
Adult programming fosters critical conversations with the community, faculty, staff, and students. This powerful partnership creates opportunities to research, teach, and learn at home and around the world.
