Program Educational Objectives

Illinois Tech's Bachelor of Science in Computer Science will prepare graduates with the knowledge, creativity, and collaborative mindset to:

A. Pursue a diverse range of careers as computer scientists and entrepreneurs.

B. Continue their education in leading graduate programs in computer science and interdisciplinary areas to emerge as researchers, experts, and educators.

C. Influence the direction of the field through innovation and research

D. Become leaders in their workplaces or research laboratories, fostering high ethical and technical standards, awareness of computing’s global impact, and diversity in the discipline.

Student Outcomes

1. Analyze a complex computing problem and to apply principles of computing and other relevant disciplines to identify solutions.

2. Design, implement, and evaluate a computing-based solution to meet a given set of computing requirements in the context of the program’s discipline.

3. Communicate effectively in a variety of professional contexts.

4. Recognize professional responsibilities and make informed judgments in computing practice based on legal and ethical principles.
