Get a head start on earning college credit by enrolling in summer courses at Illinois Tech! The summer allows you time to review foundational courses for your major and allows you to earn college credit before the fall semester, maximizing your chances of graduating on time!
How to Register for Courses
- Contact your admission counselor to request summer course registration access.
- After 48 hours, you will receive access to the Undergraduate DegreeWorks dashboard. Obtain your summer registration PIN (this will be different from your fall PIN) by emailing Academic Affairs at aa@iit.edu. Be sure to reference your A-Number/CWID in your email!
- Follow the instructions on the How to Register webpage.
Important Information About Financial Aid and Billing
Incoming fall first-year and transfer students may take summer courses at Illinois Tech at the undergraduate tuition rate. You may prorate your existing scholarships to help cover the costs of tuition. Your bill will be available on your Student Accounting Dashboard in your Illinois Tech Portal.

Early Deposit Benefit: Summer Term Course Request
Those who submitted their enrollment confirmation and deposit by March 15 qualify for early deposit benefits, which include one free three-credit summer course. In order to waive the tuition for your free summer course, you must submit the Summer Course Request form by April 8, 2024.
Summer Math Courses
If you scored 79 or below on the ALEKS Math Placement Exam, you may be recommended to enroll in a summer math course to help prepare you for entry into your desired academic program.
- ALEKS score of 80 percent or more: MATH 151
- ALEKS score of 60–79 percent: MATH 148
- ALEKS score of 59 percent or below: MATH 147
Illinois Tech offers in-person and online sections of MATH 147 and MATH 148 during summer session C (June 24–August 3). Please note that summer tuition rates apply. You may prorate your existing scholarships to cover the cost of tuition.
