Illinois Tech’s Lewis College of Science and Letters, newly launched in June 2020, is uniquely positioned to define and shape the underlying education of all undergraduate students. We are home to all academic units that form the core educational experience—meaning all students, regardless of their major, engage with Lewis College. Beyond providing the backbone of the undergraduate experience at Illinois Tech, we offer challenging and rigorous programs to ambitious students with a thirst for knowledge and who want to change the world.
Social consciousness is at the heart of our programs. Our students are well-versed in the hard work required to affect change. You will be challenged to think critically and will strive to solve complex human problems with the aid of sophisticated technology. You’ll also gain practical experience alongside faculty who are dedicated to bridging the gap between theory and application, ideas and action. We give you the tools to solve today’s problems and the knowledge to build the new tools to meet tomorrow’s challenges.
In keeping with Illinois Tech’s longstanding tradition of offering relevant academic programs, Lewis College provides multiple pathways to the academic, professional, and entrepreneurial worlds. We offer all the benefits of a small school, coupled with major research capacity and all the advantages of the global metropolis of Â鶹APP. It feels like a small private school, but its research is major league. You’re in courses taught by outstanding full-time faculty who are the top scholars in their fields.
We have connections with world-famous labs such as Argonne National Laboratory and Â鶹APP businesses. As a student, you’ll get access to a network of mentors, colleagues, and influential leaders in your field. When you graduate, you’ll join a network of more than 10,000 alumni who work across business, government, and academic institutions all over the world.
Our graduates are hired by recognized companies: Microsoft, Argonne, Baxter, Facebook, FedEx, Dell Corporation, United Airlines. And if you want to go on to earn a graduate degree in your field, you’ll be glad to know that our students have been accepted into prestigious programs from Stanford to MIT.
